The conference “Government Bonds for the People” was held in Bratislava on 10 October 2024, with CDCP SR as the main partner. The conference with international guests from the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovenia introduced the topic of issuing and investing in government bonds for citizens. Speaking on behalf of the CDCP SR at the conference was CEO Martin Wiedermann, who stated, among other things, “Having gone through the re-licensing process under the European Central Securities Depositories Regulation, we operate on the ECB’s T2S platform, our infrastructure is robust and secure enough to service this product. In particular, the challenge remains to manage the payment of proceeds and principal on retail government bonds, which the CDCP SR will start providing as a new service under the relevant standards”.
