Centrálny depozitár cenných papierov SR, a.s. (hereinafter CDCP) automatically cancelled owner accounts on which no security remained registered after the transaction of shares due to exercise of squeeze-out right with respect to the minority shareholders of the company Slovnaft, a.s. in December 2019. The automatic cancellation of owner accounts is regulated in the Act on Securities and in the Rules of Operation of CDCP and applies to so called non-allocated accounts, i.e. the owner accounts opened with the central depository by
30 September 2015 (including) for natural persons or legal entities. Therefore the owners of non-allocated accounts don’t have to request CDCP to cancel the empty account.
At present you can check on the website of CDCP whether CDCP cancelled your empty account. After entering your birth number on the website www.cdcp.sk in section „Checking of existence of an account for natural persons“ (Overenie existencie účtu pre fyzické osoby) you will be informed if CDCP administers an owner account for you or not.
We would like to inform the clients that even if the account was cancelled, the owner is obliged to pay the aliquot part of the account administration fee for period when the securities were registered on the account. So in January 2020 CDCP shall send to the account owners an invoice for account administration fee for months during which the securities were registered on the account in the year 2019. The minimum price for administration of an account charged to the natural person is 1.00 EUR per month plus VAT, and to the legal entity it is 30.00 EUR per month plus VAT. Fee is not paid mainly for:
- the owner account on which securities were not registered on the last day of any month of given year,
- owner accounts administered for deceased persons,
- owner accounts administered for the legal entities that ceased to exist (were deleted from the Business Register).
