Central Securities Depository proceeds with digitalisation of processes
Centrálny depozitár cenných papierov SR, a.s. (CDCP) will enable its clients to place requests 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Continuous digitalisation of processes is ensured by launch of the new on-line portal, which allows processing of requests without personal presence. The new portal, that is accessible from today, reflects current electronization requirements for services provided on the capital market and progresses toward standards applied in countries of the European Union.

Possibility of partial settlement of trades in securities will enhance settlement discipline of trades on the capital market
Centrálny depozitár cenných papierov SR will enable the partial settlement of securities trades. When processing transactions on selected accounts, the central depository will allow to settle only a part of submitted transfer instruction. This measure, if actively used by participants, may increase trade settlement discipline in the capital market and reduce volume of penalties payable in relation to the failure of trades in the settlement system operated by the central depository.

The central securities depository is creating unified information source for the capital market
Centrálny depozitár cenných papierov SR supports the creation of centralised corporate action information source for participants on the capital market. Namely for security issuers, investors, intermediaries and other clients. Advantage of the new information system is not only the fact that all important information is going to be distributed centrally, available on one place, but also that this information will be updated for all involved parties.

Strong impuls for the capital market in Slovakia
Burza cenných papierov in Bratislava (the Bratislava Stock Exchange) starts trading shares of successful Slovak company. After recent entry to the Stock Exchange in Prague, the company Gevorkyan decided to make a similar step in Slovakia. For the Bratislava Stock Exchange this will increase attractivity and market liquidity. At the same time, Gevorkyan may inspire and encourage other companies to enter the Stock Exchange and utilise the capital market for their growth and development.

Amendment to the law brings changes in the issuance of bonds
From this year, bonds can only be issued in the form of a book-entry security. The law no longer allows the issuance of certificated bonds. Only selected types of bonds, such as government bonds, will be exempted from the mandatory book-entry form. The amendment does not apply to municipal bonds or bonds that are immobilised with a central depository or a foreign central depository when they are issued.
